LT1085 is a positive adjustable Low Dropout Linear voltage regulator designed to provide output current of 3A with higher efficiency than currently available devices. The input voltage range is from 2.55V to 30V and available in adjustable output voltage versions. The LT1085 is available in 3-Lead Plastic TO-220 and DD Packages.

Brief Description

There are plenty of voltage Regulator ICs such as LM317 and 78XX series. LT1085 is a Positive Voltage Regulator with low voltage drop at high current value. The maximum voltage drop by LT1085 regulator at 3A of load current is 1.3V. The pinout of LT1085 is similar to LM1084. The LT1085 is adjustable, so you can adjust the regulated output voltage just by using two resistors. LT1085 voltage regulator comes with overcurrent, reverse polarity, over-temperature, and protection positive and negative transient voltage spikes features.


How to Use LT1085 Regulator?

Using an LT1085voltage regulator is very easy as it requires a minimum number of external components. LT1085 has the same pin configuration as AZ1084. As you can see in the below diagram, this LT1085 is in adjustable mode and you can vary the regulated output voltage by changing the value of the resistor connected to the ADJ pin.
