Conga SMX95-New SMARC Modules for Energy-Efficient Edge AI Applications
Congatec has introduced the conga-SMX95 SMARC modules, which are high-performance computer-on-modules (COMs) powered by NXP's i.MX95 processors. This innovation facilitates seamless scalability and dependable upgrade options for both existing and newly emerging edge AI applications requiring stringent security measures. The conga-SMX95 is designed for AI-accelerated, low-power applications like machine vision, visual inspection, industrial production, 3D printing, passenger seat-back entertainment in buses and aircraft, and transportation fleet management.
These new modules deliver up to three times the GFLOPS computing performance compared to the previous generation featuring i.MX8 M Plus processors, optimised for an industrial temperature range of -40℃ to +85℃. The Conga-SMX95 modules boast robust mechanical durability and are optimised for cost-effective, energy-efficient applications. Featuring integrated high-performance NPUs, they enable AI-accelerated tasks to be executed closer to the device, enhancing local processing capabilities. Powered by NXP's i.MX 95 application processors with 4-6 Arm Cortex-A55 cores, these modules also integrate a real-time domain for precise control applications. Key features include dual Gbit Ethernet with TSN for synchronised and deterministic network data transmission, LPDDR5 memory with inline ECC for enhanced data security, DisplayPort for standard display connectivity, and dual MIPI-CSI interfaces for direct camera connection.
