TDK introduces compact Y1 safety capacitors for operations
TDK Corporation has introduced the compact B3201*A5/B5/C5 series of Y1 safety capacitors. These metallized polypropylene (MKP) film capacitors are specifically designed to suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI) in demanding automotive and industrial applications.
This series is engineered for operations up to 500 V (AC) and features a maximum operating temperature of +125 °C (with derating). A key differentiator is their space-saving footprint, which allows developers to implement reliable line-to-ground filtering even where PCB space is limited. The capacitors also boast AEC-Q200 Rev. E compliance and high robustness, making them suitable for severe ambient conditions.
The B3201*A5/B5/C5 series offers capacitance values ranging from 0.47 to 33 nF, available with lead spacings of 15 and 22.5 mm. The compact dimensions, such as the B32012 variants measuring 5.0 x 10.5 x 18.0 mm, underscore their suitability for space-constrained designs.
