ROHM Adds RS7P200BM to 100V Power MOSFET Line for AI Server Applications
ROHM has broadened its range of 100V power MOSFETs with the new RS7P200BM. The expansion is intended to meet market demand driven by AI adoption. It is suited for 48V hot-swap applications, including AI servers with a wide Safe Operating Area (SOA) and low on-resistance (RDS(on)).
The MOSFET delivers a RDS(on) of 4.0mΩ when operating at a gate-to-source voltage (VGS) of 10 V, a drain current (ID) of 50 A, and an ambient temperature (Ta) of 25 °C. And at the same time, it offers an SOA, handling 7.5 A for 10 ms pulses and up to 25 A for 1 ms pulses at a drain-to-source voltage (VDS) of 48 V. Usually, while designing for a low RDS(on), one ends up narrowing the SOA. This component finds a balance between both, which is specifically beneficial for curbing electricity costs as reduced heat means less energy spent on cooling.
Housed in a DFN5060-8S (5060 size) package measuring 5.0mm × 6.0mm, the RS7P200BM enables higher-density board designs. The product is available for purchase through online distributors, and samples are priced at $5.5 per unit before tax.
