Three-Phase 48V Input Power Supply for Industrial Applications with Remote Monitoring
TDK Corporation has added a 48V, 83.3A 4kW output power supply to TDK-Lambda’s TPS series for remote sensing in industrial applications. The TPS4000-48 operates from an industrial three-phase input and can automatically run from 400, 440, or 480Vac nominal delta or WYE inputs without any wire changes or the need for large, costly step-down transformers. The power supply has 3kVac input to output, 2kVac input to ground, and 500Vdc output to ground isolation.
The TPS 4000 output power supply can be used in a vast number of applications including test and measurement equipment, semiconductor fabrication, additive manufacturing, printers, laser cutting, and RF power amplifiers. The TPS 4000 series comes with as standard, output voltage, and current programming, AC fails, DC good and dropped phase warning signals, configurable remote on / off, 12V 0.3A standby voltage, and a PMBus interface. The output voltage of the device can be adjusted from 38.4 - 58V, using the front panel potentiometers or an analog 0-5Vdc voltage user can adjust the current point by 70-105%.
With a unit measurement of 107 x 84.4 x 335 mm and a low weight of just 4kg, the TPS4000 is suitable for delivering 92% efficiency in 2U high racking systems. The TPS can start up at -40°C, operate at full load in ambient temperatures of -10°C to +50°C, and deliver 55% load at 70°C. The device comes with a variable speed temperature-controlled cooling fan for reducing acoustic noise and ingress of contaminants. The TPS4000 is designed to meet the MIL-STD-461F/G RE102 EMI and MIL-STD-810F vibration and shock.
