TDK PositionSense™ offers 'Smart Perception’ for wearables

TDK InvenSense PositionSense 9-Axis Sensor Solution
TDK InvenSense PositionSense 9-Axis Sensor Solution

TDK Corporation, through its group company InvenSense, has announced the worldwide distribution availability of PositionSense™, a two-chip, nine-axis sensor solution. This innovative product is designed to provide 'Smart Perception' capabilities, enabling next-generation positioning accuracy and navigation for a wide array of devices.

PositionSense addresses the critical need for precise location and orientation tracking in modern technology, particularly for Physical AI devices. It ensures that users and autonomous systems remain accurately oriented and on track, even in environments lacking satellite connectivity, such as dense urban areas, factories, or remote fields.

The solution's key differentiator lies in its custom integration of advanced components: TDK’s ultra-low-power 6-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) and a 3-axis TMR-based (Tunnel Magneto Resistance) magnetometer. These are combined with on-chip sensor fusion and calibration software, delivering fast, accurate orientation tracking and position detection. This integration allows for ultimate positioning accuracy in demanding applications.
