Power MOSFET in LFPAK 5x6: AOS’s Solution for Industrial and Solar Applications
Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Limited (AOS) has introduced a new power MOSFET in the LFPAK 5x6 package. This MOSFET is available in voltage ratings of 40V, 60V, and 100V. It is designed for use in industrial, server power, telecommunications, and solar applications, where high reliability is crucial. The LFPAK package offers improved board-level reliability, featuring gull-wing leads that enhance the ruggedness of the device and allow for optical inspection during assembly. The package also includes a larger copper clip, which improves both electrical and thermal performance by offering better current handling, lower on-resistance, and improved heat dissipation.
Additionally, the large clip design reduces parasitic inductance, leading to lower spike voltage during switching operations. These features collectively enhance the robustness of the MOSFET, making it suitable for harsh environments. The device also benefits from AOS’s advanced shielded gate MOSFET technology, AlphaSGT™, which further supports high reliability in demanding conditions.
