MELF Resistors: 10x Higher Resistance with Enhanced Tolerance and Low TCR For Automotive and Medical Applications
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced an enhanced AECQ200-qualified thin film MELF resistors in the MMU 0102, MMA 0204, and MMB 0207 case sizes. They offer high stability and reliability to the applications with higher resistance. They come with a low TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance) of up to ± 15 ppm/K and tight tolerance down to ± 0.1% and high resistance values of up to 10 MW. They are used across various sectors, including automotive, industrial, telecommunications, and medical applications.
Previously, similar resistors could only handle a maximum of 511 KW. Precision MMA 0204 offers 10 times higher resistance than the previous thin film MELF resistor model. Thus, replacing multiple lower-value resistors will save space, simplify the design, and reduce the cost of production.
These resistors use advanced technology to reliably measure electric current in power supplies for automotive ADAS, LIDAR, cameras, and medical devices. They are durable, resist harsh conditions like sulfur exposure, and stay stable over time. They are also eco-friendly as they are lead-free, halogen-free, RoHS-compliant and meet strict environmental standards and easy to assemble with automated machines.
