Traco Power has introduced the new THN 10UIR, TEN 30UIR, and TEN 40UIR series of high-performance DC/DC converters specifically designed for railway applications. These converters handle a wide range of input voltages, from 9–75 VDC and 14–160 VDC. The THN 10UIR features a 1"×1" package with a power output of 10 Watts, while the TEN 30UIR and TEN 40UIR come in a 2"×1" package, providing 30 Watts and 40 Watts of power, respectively. These converters operate within a temperature range of –40 to +80°C without derating and achieve an efficiency of up to 90%. They also feature an I/O isolation voltage of 3,000 VDC, making them suitable for rugged applications.

These converters meet the standards for railway applications (EN 50155) and for shock and vibration (EN 61373). They also meet the fire safety standard (EN 45545-2) and have safety approval (IEC/EN/UL 62368-1). They include features like under voltage lockout circuits, adjustable output voltage, and remote On/Off control. The compact design is resistant to shock, vibration, and temperature changes. They also have a dedicated connection for holdup capacitors to support extended holdup-time requirements without needing large input capacitors. The THN 10UIR, TEN 30UIR, and TEN 40UIR series provide a reliable and efficient power solution for various challenging environments, suitable for ruggedized applications in the railway and transportation sectors.
