KIA78R033PI is a 4 terminal low drop voltage regulator. It has regulated voltage of 3.3 VDC. The output current of the KIA78R033PI is 1.0A. They have an adjustable pin which can be used in two modes one as an adjustable voltage regulator and secondly it can be used for ON/OFF control function. Logic Level ON/OFF Control (TTL−CMOS Compatible) can be used to control the ON/OFF function using Adjustable Pin 4. The maximum ON/OFF Control Voltage VC that can be applied is 16 VDC. The Regulator has multi-function such as over current protection, Overheat protection.

 

How to Use KIA78R033PI as Adjustable Voltage Regulator?

KIA78R033PI can also be used as adjustable voltage regulator using its Adjustable pin (pin4) so that its output voltage can be varied to the desired value using the above circuit.

How To Use KIA78R033PI as Adustable Power Supply

Here, the input voltage VIN can be anywhere between 4.3V-12V. The output voltage can be adjusted using the value of resistance R1 and R2. The value can be calculated using the below formulae.

VOUT = VREF x ( 1 + (R2/R1)) = 1.25 x ( 1 +(R2/R1))

VREF = 1.25 V

In Fixed type of voltage regulator the Adjustable pin (Pin4) is not used.
