B72214P2 – Compact and High Performance Metal Oxide Varistor
TDK Corporation has presented B7221P2*, a compact S14 AdvanceD-MP series of metal oxide disk Varistors that features smaller dimensions with the same excellent performance as compared to S14 types. The Disk Varistors are designed with a diameter of 13mm to 14mm which is comparatively a 3mm reduction. Similar to their current S14 counterparts, these Varistors also offer maximum surge current capability of 6 kA at 8/20 µs according to IEC 62368-1. The optimized design of the Varistors results in an improved derating performance over time.
Features of B7221P2 MOV:
- High performance with a smaller disk diameter
- Wide operating voltage range from 130 to 460 VRMS
- All types duty cycle @ 6 kV/ 3 kA = >10 pulses
- Multiple pulse handling capability

The compact size and outstanding electrical characteristics of the Varistors allows the design engineers to reduce the size of their products, hence they can be used in a wide range of applications. All the types of Compact S14 /Varistors are approved by UL, CSA, VDE, and IEC.
