HLK-PM01 AC to DC 5V Power module
The HLK-PM01 is a small size low cost AC to DC converter which can take in 110V/220V AC at 50/60 Hz and give 5V 3W output. The module is can be used in designs which run on 5V and needs to be powered form the AC mains.

Where to use HLKPM01
The HLKPM01 is commonly used in places where a microcontroller circuit has to be powered directly from AC mains. Most digital circuits operate at a voltage of 5V, this module can convert the AC mains to 5V with an efficiency of 70%. The module also meets the UL,CE requirements hence can be used in commercial products and should be free from ripple and noise.
However the module can source only a maximum of 600mA as continuous current, so if you circuit requires anything more than that then consider the HLK-5M05 module which can source upto 1A.
How to use the HLKPM01
The HLKPM-01 module is a circuit by itself. Inside the thick black box there are circuits to convert your AC mains directly to 5V DC. So using it is pretty simple. You just have to connect the AC mains terminals to the AC pin and we will get a 5V regulated voltage at its output terminals.
The module also has built-in short circuit protection and over current protection. But, still you might consider adding some external protection circuits based on your Power regulation and application. Commonly a fuse and a MOV is used on the input side to protect the module from voltage and current spikes.
