DACxx508 and ADS122x04 – Precision ADCs and DACs with small footprint for industrial/personal electronics applications
Texas Instruments has launched four new data converter ICs. The DAC80508 and DAC70508 are Digital to analog converters (DACs) with eight channel precision proving a true resolution of 16-bit/14-bit. The ADS122C04 and ADS122U04 are analog to digital converters (ADCs) with 24-bit precision and features two-wire I2C and UART compatible interface respectively.
All these four data converters are aimed to be used application where space is a strict constraint. They are also claimed to have high performance for a relatively low cost ratio.
Key features of DAC80508 and DAC70508:
- Channel: 8-channel
- Resolution: 16-bit, 14-bit
- Operating voltage: 2.7V to 5.5V
- Power consumption: 0.6mA per Channel @ 5.5V
- 2.5V Integrated Precision Internal Reference
- 50MHz SPI Serial Interface (Supports daisy chain)
- Package: 2.4mm by 2.4mm (DSBGA) and 3mm by 3mm (WQFN)
Key features of ADS122C04 and ADS122U04:
- Channel: 4-channel
- Resolution: 24-bit
- Operating Voltage: 2.3V to 5.5V
- Power consumption: 315uA (typ)
- Internal 2.048 Reference Voltage
- Oscillator accuracy: 2%
- Gain: 1 to 128
- Communication protocol: I2C(ADS122C04), UART (ADS122U04)
- Package: 3mm by 3mm (WQFN ) and 5mm by 4.4mm (TSSOP)
