TDK Launches 1000 V and 1500 V Contactors for xEVs
TDK Corporation has introduced the HVC28 and HVC29 series of high-voltage DC contactors, designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern power systems. These gas-filled contactors are engineered for critical applications in electric vehicles (xEVs), DC fast-charging infrastructure, and advanced AI data center power architectures.
The HVC28 series is specifically tailored for automotive systems, supporting operating DC voltages up to 1000 V and handling high short-circuit currents. In parallel, the HVC29 series addresses industrial power systems, accommodating operating DC voltages up to 1500 V. Both series offer continuous current ratings from 300 A to 600 A, providing versatile solutions for various high-power applications.
A key differentiator for both series is their use of a ceramic, gas-filled arc chamber, which ensures rapid and reliable interruption of DC currents. Furthermore, their polarity-free main terminals enable bidirectional current flow, a crucial feature for applications where power can flow in either direction. An optional mechanical auxiliary contact provides mechanically linked feedback on the main contact's state, enhancing safety and monitoring capabilities in critical systems.
