Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has commenced mass production of its TXZ+™ Family Entry-Class M4L Group of compact microcontrollers. These new devices are built around an Arm® Cortex®-M4 core with a floating-point unit (FPU), targeting next-generation home appliances, consumer products, and industrial equipment.

There is a growing industry demand for enhanced energy efficiency, compact designs, IoT connectivity, and improved maintainability across various applications. This necessitates advanced motor-control microcontrollers that offer high-precision control while also integrating functions for improved development efficiency and system reliability.

Toshiba's M4L Group microcontrollers are specifically engineered for single-motor control applications. They integrate dedicated motor-control hardware, robust security functions, and comprehensive functional safety measures onto a single chip. This design offloads motor-control processing from the CPU, significantly reducing its load and enabling highly efficient and precise motor control.
