Molex MiniMix Launch: 15A Power + 1Gbps Hybrid Connector for Robots

MiniMiX Hybrid Power and Signal Connectors
MiniMiX Hybrid Power and Signal Connectors

Molex has launched the MiniMix Hybrid Power and Signal Connectors, a purpose-built interconnect platform designed to solve manufacturing and packaging challenges in next-generation humanoid robotics, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and advanced industrial automation systems. The launch was announced on August 5, 2026, from Lisle, IL. By combining 15.0A power and high-speed Ethernet communication within a single, ultra-compact interface, MiniMix streamlines installation in space-constrained joints, actuators and robotic mechanisms, reducing connector count, cabling complexity and assembly effort.  molex + 2

Molex frames this as a direct response to a scaling bottleneck: humanoid robot manufacturers are moving rapidly from prototype builds to commercial mass production, but traditional joint wiring methods create major manufacturing bottlenecks — MiniMix replaces manual assembly with an integrated power-and-signal solution, according to Brian Hauge, President and SVP of Consumer and Commercial Solutions at Molex.  molex.

The Molex MiniMiX Hybrid Power and Signal Connectors provide a space-saving solution by integrating power and high-speed data into a single connector. Their compact footprint, flexible mounting options, and support for up to 15 A power and 1 Gbps Ethernet make them well suited for next-generation industrial, automotive, and embedded applications where reliability and design efficiency are critical.

Key Features

  • Integrated hybrid interface: Combines 15.0A power delivery and high-speed data communication in the industry's smallest hybrid connector for space-constrained robotic joints and actuators
  • Ultra-narrow routing: Enables routing through openings as small as 5.65mm, requiring up to 50% less routing area than alternative options for greater design freedom and fewer failure points.
  • Flexible layout options: Vertical and right-angle orientations optimize internal space utilization, minimize cable strain and accommodate diverse layout requirements.
  • Pre-terminated assembly: The compact profile enables pre-terminated cable assemblies to pass smoothly through narrow internal actuator channels, articulated limbs, robotic joints and end-effectors, cutting down on manual wire threading and hand-soldering.
  • Motion durability: Built to maintain reliable electrical performance and long-term durability across repeated movement cycles.
