Vishay TSM41: Industrial-Grade Surface-Mount Trimmers for Harsh Environments

Vishay Intertechnology has launched a series of industrial-grade, multi-turn surface-mount cermet trimmers called the TSM41. These tiny components are built for space-limited applications and harsh operating conditions. They feature a 4 mm by 4 mm footprint, an operating temperature range from -55 °C to +140 °C, and IP67 sealing.
The series offers a resistance range of 10 Ω to 1 MΩ, with a faster adjustment-to-time ratio when compared to single-turn trimmers. Rated for 0.25 W at +85 °C, the trimmers are available in both top and side adjustment configurations. There’s room for automated assembly and modifications as they are mounted straight on a PCB. Also, they can be placed on either side of a PCB, which can improve production speed and reduce manufacturing costs.
The trimmers are fully sealed to withstand standard board wash processes, making the devices suitable for demanding applications like welding equipment, power tools, smoke detectors, and HVAC systems. Samples and production units of the TSM41 series are both available now, with lead times of 15 weeks.
