Diodes Incorporated has introduced two quad-channel Hybrid ReDrivers™ to improve HDMI signal integrity and also make system design simpler: the PI3HDX12311 and PI3HDX6311. The PI3HDX12311 handles HDMI 2.1 Fixed Rate Link (FRL) up to 12Gbps and TMDS up to 6Gbps, while the PI3HDX6311 is optimized for HDMI 2.0 signals at 6Gbps. Both of them support DisplayPort Dual-Mode (DP++) level shifting, which allows HDMI signals to be passed from a DP++ output.

These ReDrivers adjust how they work based on the HDMI version. They operate in limited mode for HDMI 1.4 and in linear mode for HDMI 2.0 and 2.1, making them hybrid ReDrivers. In linear mode, the PI3HDX12311 can support up to 8K video and 48Gbps aggregate bandwidth. Inputs and outputs can be AC or DC coupled, with short-circuit detection in DC mode. Both chips make use of pin-strapping to control EQ, gain, swing, and linearity settings, and also feature far-end receiver detection. To minimize the usage of power, they monitor the hot-plug-detect (HPD) pin and enter low-power mode if it stays low for over 2ms. 

The chips operate at 3.3V, dissipate 726mW of power (typical), and come in compact 32-pin X1-QFN2845 packages (2.85mm x 4.5mm). They can handle a wide temperature range of -40°C to +70°C and are lead-free, RoHS compliant, and halogen-free. The PI3HDX12311 is priced at $0.99 and the PI3HDX6311 at $0.77 in quantities of 3,500 units.
