Diodes Launches AH4930Q: Advanced 3D Hall Sensor for Automotive Motion Detection

Diodes Incorporated has introduced its automotive-grade 3D Hall effect sensor, the AH4930Q, designed to improve how modern cars detect motion and position. Even though it’s small, this smart sensor can detect magnetic fields in all three directions — X, Y, and Z. That means it’s great for touch-free car features like infotainment, gear shifters, door handles, and powered seat adjusters.
The AH4930Q is built for accuracy and application needs. The sensor comes with a built-in temperature sensor and can detect very small movements even when temperature changes, which helps it track positions very accurately. It connects easily to a car’s system using I²C, so it can send and receive data quickly and make real-time adjustments.
It also has different power modes, so it can save energy when needed or work faster when required. It includes an ultra-low-power mode and a high-speed sampling mode for continuous measurement. With quick wake-up and response times, it ensures fast, reliable data capture even in demanding automotive environments.
With its small size and ability to handle tough environments like wide temperature ranges (-40°C to +125°C) and different voltage levels (2.8V to 5.5V), the AH4930Q fits perfectly into the growing demand for smarter, more responsive car features.
