MCE Family of Compact AC-DC Power Modules Offering Wide Range of Power Outputs for Easy Integration
XP Power has released the MCE family, a range of single-output AC-DC power modules designed for easy integration into Body Floating (BF) applications targeting medical and dental equipment, patient treatment, and monitoring devices. The MCE family includes four series - MCE03, MCE10, MCE20, and MCE40 - offering power ratings of 3W, 10W, 20W, and 40W respectively. These modules are designed to operate globally with a universal input range of 80 to 264VAC, providing a variety of single output options ranging from 3.3VDC to 48VDC (3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, 24, 48).
The MCE units come with essential worldwide medical approvals, including IEC/EN60601, EN61000-4-x for EMC immunity, and EN55011 Class B (conducted and radiated) for EMC emissions. The units ensure 2 x MOPP (Means of Patient Protection) isolation and Class II construction without an earth connection. The compact sizes make them easily PCB mountable, providing added convenience during integration.
The MCE family has robust 4kVAC of input-to-output isolation with an IEC Class II insulation rating, offering enhanced safety and reliability. With high efficiency, reaching up to 88%, these modules can operate efficiently within an ambient temperature range of -25ºC to +70ºC. The units also incorporate overload, overvoltage, and short circuit protection as standard.
