W1 Family Embedded Wi-Fi Antennas from AVX Corporations

AVX Corporation has introduced a new W Series Embedded Wi-Fi Antennas to deliver maximum design flexibility, easy implementation, quicker time-to-market, and reliable, well-matched performance and high-speed data rates in wireless applications such as agricultural, commercial, consumer, computing, industrial, medical, and telecommunications markets. The new Wi-Fi Antennas offer a wide range of standard solutions with ultraminiature form factors, PCB or FPC antenna technologies capable of supporting single- and dual-band operating frequencies up to 6GHz, performance-enhancing foam coatings, and various mounting options.

The W Series comprises three families, the W1, W2, and W3 Families, all of them weigh just 0.3g and measure just 0.4mm in height, support three PCB/FPC thickness (0.1mm, 0.4mm, and 0.8mm), and exhibit 50Ω unbalanced feed-point impedance. Available in 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz frequency bands, the W Series can support integrated foam coating on component backsides to minimize antenna detuning on various surfaces, several different mounting adhesives to ensure material compatibility and enable maximum placement flexibility and various cable lengths, diameters, colors, and connectors.

All these features make the W Series Embedded Wi-Fi Antennas a suitable solution for wireless gateways, access points, routers, and large area networks (WLANs), smart home systems, industrial machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, digital signage, and a wide variety of other cross-market devices and equipment that employ Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and ZigBee communications protocols. The new W Series antennas are packed in individual PE bags and are available at a lead time of seven weeks.
