TLX9150M Photorelay in Compact SO12L-T Package for High-Voltage Battery Management in Electric Vehicles
Toshiba has introduced the TLX9150M, an automotive photorelay with an output withstand voltage of 900V, designed to meet the needs of 400V battery systems in electric vehicles (EVs). The photorelay is housed in a compact SO12L-T package of 7.76x10.0x2.45 mm—a size reduction of 25% compared to Toshiba’s previous SO16L-T package. Mainly used as BMS in electric vehicles, this photorelay withstands the voltage approximately twice that of the system voltage.
Increasing EV demand in the industry necessitates higher-capacity, high-voltage batteries to improve cruising range and charging efficiency; this is achieved by the new TLX9150M optimizing battery management systems (BMS) to constantly monitor and manage the battery to maximize life and performance. The TLX9150M photorelay offers high-voltage isolation and reliability to the consumers. It is robust to withstand voltage margins, making it ideal for high-voltage BMS applications.
