TDK-Lambda TPF12500-385 Series 12.5 kW Three-Phase Power Supply

TDK Corporation, through its TDK-Lambda brand, has introduced the TDK-Lambda TPF12500-385 series, a line of non-isolated three-phase power supplies. These units are specifically designed for Distributed Power Architectures (DPA), offering a nominal power rating of 12.5 kW, with a maximum output of 13.1 kW. They provide a regulated output voltage of 385 Vdc and achieve a high efficiency of 97.5%, making them suitable for powering isolated high-voltage DC-DC converters or DC Microgrids.

A key differentiator of the TPF12500 series is its wide-range input capability, operating from Delta or Wye 360 - 528 Vac three-phase inputs. This broad input range facilitates global operation and eliminates the need for costly step-down transformers, while also helping engineers maintain balanced phase loading for enhanced system reliability. For increased output capacity without requiring system redesign, up to two power supplies can be connected in parallel utilizing droop-mode current sharing.

The design prioritizes efficiency and reliability, featuring low internal losses that enable effective cooling via two internal fans. The use of board-to-board connectors and reduced wiring further contributes to improved system efficiency, lower electrical losses, and greater reliability by minimising potential failure points associated with cable fatigue, loose connections, and vibration. Additionally, the series integrates RS-485 communications for comprehensive remote monitoring capabilities.
