STMicroelectronics has released a new module called ASM330LHB that is designed for use in vehicles. The module comes with a software engine and contains a 3-axis digital accelerometer and 3-axis digital gyroscope, which accurately measure the movement of the vehicle. This information can be used to improve the accuracy of features such as lane centering, emergency braking, and cruise assistance. Additionally, it can be used to enable semi-automated driving applications.

The ASM330LHB has been designed to work in a wide range of temperatures and maintains high stability over time. Its dedicated software engine is certified for safety integrity up to level B and has been independently certified by TÜV SÜD. This means it complies with automotive safety standards and can be used in safety-critical systems.

Furthermore, the module has an embedded machine learning core (MLC) that can detect events such as theft attempts or impacts from other vehicles, even when the driver is away. It is available in a 2.5mm x 3.0mm 14-lead VFLGA package, and pricing starts from $11.9.
