SPSB081 Automotive Power-Management IC

STMicroelectronics has launched its SPSB081 automotive power-management IC, a highly versatile solution packed with features ideal for a wide range of automotive applications. This IC acts like a Swiss Army Knife for automotive power management, offering a fixed-voltage low-dropout regulator (LDO), a programmable secondary LDO, four high-side drivers, a CAN FD transceiver, and an optional LIN transceiver.

Variants of the SPSB081 include the SPSB081C3 and SPSB081C5, offering fixed LDOs with different voltage ratings (3.3V or 5V) and a CAN transceiver. The SPSB0813 and SPSB0815 variants include an additional LIN transceiver. The secondary LDO, present in all versions, can be programmed independently or to track the main LDO. The SPSB081 series caters to the evolving needs of the automotive industry, simplifying the design of car-body controllers for functions such as sunroofs, seats, tailgates, doors, and lighting modules. These controllers also find applications in gateways, HVAC controllers, passive keyless entry systems, telematic control units, and control panels.

The SPSB081 series offers robust and secure power management with built-in protection, ISO 26262 compliance, and diagnostic outputs. AEC-Q100 qualified, it withstands extreme temperatures and comes in a compact 5mm x 5mm x 1mm QFN32L package, making it ideal for automotive applications. It's a cost-effective, feature-rich solution for power management.
