ROHM Introduces 600V Super Junction MOSFETs with Exceptional Noise Performance and Unmatched Reverse Recovery Time

ROHM has introduced the R60xxRNx series, a new addition to its PrestoMOS™ lineup of 600V Super Junction MOSFETs. These MOSFETs are designed specifically for driving small motors in appliances like refrigerators and ventilation fans, where noise suppression is crucial. In response to the increasing demand for energy-efficient equipment, ROHM's MOSFETs offer high efficiency and low power consumption. The R60xxRNx series maintains the fast reverse recovery time (trr) characteristics of PrestoMOS™ while minimizing noise, resulting in a 30% reduction in switching losses and a 15dB improvement in noise characteristics compared to standard products.

With motor drives consuming up to 50% of the world's total power demand, there is a growing need for high-efficiency MOSFETs in inverter circuits. However, mitigating the noise generated during MOSFET operation typically involves additional components and circuit pattern changes, leading to increased costs and labor. ROHM's R60xxRNx series addresses this challenge by delivering industry-leading noise characteristics while maintaining the fast trr through an optimized structure. This breakthrough helps reduce the number of man-hours and parts required for noise countermeasures, offering a cost-effective solution for noise suppression in motor-driven applications.

ROHM plans to expand its high voltage MOSFET lineup in different packages with even lower ON resistances, contributing to environmental protection through reduced power consumption in various applications.
