SLS37 V2X Hardware Security Module from Infineon

Infineon Technologies AG has launched the SLS37 V2X hardware security module (HSM) which is based on a highly secured, tamper-resistant microcontroller tailored to the security needs in V2X applications within telematics control units. This plug-and-play security solution is protecting the integrity and moreover authenticity of messages and has received the Common Criteria EAL4+ certification. This new HSM solution offers a host of benefits to automotive OEMs, tier-1 suppliers, and software providers for the development of connected vehicles.

The SLS37 V2X HSM accepts a wide supply voltage range from 1,6 to 3,6 V, comes with a high-speed SPI interface with up to 10 MHz, and supports all major vehicle credential management systems including SCMS, CCMS, and ESPS. This discrete HSM helps system integrators to solve the conflicting requirements of high performance and is focused on high-security tasks such as key storage and the generation of signatures for outgoing messages.

The hardware architecture is based on a 32-bit Arm SecurCore SC300 CPU with an additional high-performance cryptographic engine and the latest-generation hardware coprocessor for asymmetric cryptography. Moreover, for communication to the host processor, the SLS37 HSM uses an SPI interface with data protection.
