Minebea Power Semiconductor Device Inc., a subsidiary of the MinebeaMitsumi Group, has released the ECN30626, a high-voltage three-phase motor driver IC. Rated at 600V / 3.0A (Peak), this IC is specifically engineered for fan motor drives found in consumer appliances such as room air conditioners, heat pumps, and water heaters. It is available in industry-standard DIP26, SOP26, and SOP26R packages.

Developed in response to global market feedback, the ECN30626 provides a highly robust solution to ensure stable, uninterrupted system operation, particularly in regions prone to severe power grid and voltage fluctuations. This integration optimizes hardware robustness, thereby lowering overall system costs and conserving valuable board space.

A key differentiator of the ECN30626 is its monolithic High-Voltage IC (HVIC) design. This single-chip solution integrates six IGBTs, freewheeling diodes (FWDs), a gate driver, and comprehensive hardware protections—including overcurrent and undervoltage protection—along with upper-arm bootstrap capacitors onto a single silicon die. This high level of integration eliminates the need for numerous external components, directly reducing Bill of Materials (BOM) costs and optimising the driver board's footprint.

The IC further enhances efficiency by accepting six independent control signals, enabling precise inverter control for brushless DC (BLDC) motors.
