IXHL-1500VZ-5A: Automotive Grade High Temperature, High Current Through-Hole Inductor with 420A Saturation Current
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced the IXHL-1500VZ-5A, an automotive-grade through-hole inductor that can deliver a 420A saturation current in a compact 1500 case size. The new inductor offers a very low typical DCR (Direct Current Resistance) down to 0.12 mΩ and 30% inductance reduction at continuous high-temperature operation up to +155°C.
Packed in a shielded, composite 38.1 mm by 38.1 mm by 21.9 mm compact size, the AEC-Q200 qualifies device can support up to 235 A of continuous DC current. The IXHL-1500VZ-5A can be the best alternative for larger and more expensive competing solutions in high current input filters and 12 V / 24 V / 48 V DC/DC converters for switching regulators, differential mode, and boost power factor correction chokes, and battery charging systems.
Along with the ability to handle high transient current spikes without hard saturation, the RoHS-compliant, halogen-free IXHL-1500VZ-5A can provide high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock.
