Cost-Optimized Integrated Knob Potentiometers for Industrial and Audio Applications

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced two new panel potentiometers with integrated knobs and IP67 sealing. These potentiometers, known as the Vishay Sfernice P16F and PA16F, are specifically designed to simplify designs and reduce costs in both industrial and audio applications. The P16F and PA16F potentiometers combine a knob and panel potentiometer into a single component, eliminating the need for separate knob purchases and assembly. This integration streamlines the design process. Additionally, with only mounting hardware and terminals located on the back side of the panel, these compact potentiometers require minimal clearance behind the panel, less than 15 mm.

The PA16F utilizes a conductive plastic resistive element and is tailored for audio applications. On the other hand, the cermet P16F is suited for industrial applications such as motor drives, welding equipment, HVAC and lighting systems, and control panels. Both potentiometers are fully sealed with an IP67 rating, ensuring reliable operation in harsh environmental conditions. Customization options are available for the potentiometers, including knob markings, resistance values, wires, connectors, detent, and switch options. Metallic knob variants are available upon request.
