i7A Series 33A 500W Rated Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters

The i7A series of 33A 500W rated non-isolated DC-DC converters from TDK Corporation can be used to derive additional high outputs from a 24V, 36V, or 48V DC power supply. Packed in the 1/16th brick pinout, these converters are best suitable for use in medical, communications, industrial, test and measurement, broadcast, and portable battery-powered equipment.

The output voltage of these step-down converters can be adjusted from 3.3 to 24V and accept a wide range input voltage of 18 to 60V. The 98% efficiency of the device minimizes internal losses and allows it to operate at an ambient temperature of 40°C to +125°C, even with low airflow conditions.

The compact design of these converters provides a low output ripple and excellent response to dynamic loads. The need for fewer external components saves cost and PCB space. The i7A series also includes an output voltage adjustment trim pin, + remote sense, remote on-off (positive or negative logic), input under-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection.

With a measurement of just 34 mm wide and 36.8 mm in length, the device comes in three different mechanical configurations. The 11.5 mm high open-frame model is suitable for applications requiring a very low profile whereas the baseplate version for conduction cooling to a cold plate is 12.7 mm high. For convection or forced air cooling, the 24.9 mm high model with an integral heatsink can be used.
