Working 

The onboard circuit is not very complexed, it uses minimal and basic components in order to perform its operation. The circuit contains a step-down transformer which lowers down the 220V AC(input) to 5V AC, once the voltage is stepped down to 5V it is then passed through four diodes which act as a rectifier and convert the AC voltage into DC voltage. After which a series of capacitors and resistors are used to filter out the AC components and provide a pure 5V DC output.

 

Connections

As mentioned earlier that some of the SMPS modules which you buy would not have the pinout mentioned. The image below can be referred to know the input and output pins of this module.

In this specific module on which NC-329 is mentioned. The output can be taken across the filter capacitor, which is beside the transformer. The image can be referred for a better understanding. Other SMPS modules are also available in the marker whose pinouts are not mentioned, so it is always wise to use a multimeter and locate the filter capacitor and take the output across it.
