SRV05-4: Low Capacitance TVS Diode Array
The SRV05 is a low capacitance TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) array specifically designed to protect sensitive semiconductor components that are connected to transmission and data lines from overvoltage caused by electrostatic discharge, electric fast transients, and lightning. Operating voltage for SRV05 is 5V.

Overview of SRV05
SRV05 TVS diode array has eight surge rated, low capacitance steering diode and a TVS diode in a single package to protect each I/O pin against ESD and high surge events. Steering diodes are connected in common anode format in four groups. Internal circuit diagram for SRV05 is shown below.
When the transient condition occurs, steering diodes direct the transient to ground or positive side of power supply and TVS diode protects power line from overvoltage by protecting any downstream component.
How to Use SRV05
The SRV05 is designed to protect four data lines from transient over voltages caused by electrostatic discharge and lightning by clamping them to a fixed reference. Data lines are connected to 1, 3, 4 and 6 pins. 2nd pin of SRV05 is connected to ground and 5th pin is connected to positive side of power supply. So whenever the voltage on protected data lines exceeds the reference voltage the steering diodes directs the current away from sensitive circuitry.
