TC9562 series – Ethernet Bridge ICs for Automotive and Industrial Applications
Toshiba Electronics has today announced three new automotive grade Ethernet Bridge ICs for real time data transmission in vehicles. The three ICs are namely TC9562AXBG , TC9562BXBG and TC9562XBG. All the three ICs comes with Arm Cortex M3 CPU core, the difference is that TC9562AXBG offers more interfaces, while the TC9562BXBG supports Ethernet TSN and Ethernet AVB and the TC9562XBG offers simpler IC configuration.
The Ethernet AVB specification offers real-time reliable data transmission and is increasingly used in vehicles. The TC9560 series offers Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000Mbps) solutions compliant with IEEE standards. More and more road vehicles now have on-board connectivity, equipping them with internet and cellular access, and allowing information to be shared among on-board systems and devices and with external systems and services. On top of this, low latency communications are essential for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving technologies. These developments all require more complex automotive communication systems supported by reliable transmission standards with real-time data delivery. The Ethernet TSN standard was developed expressly to meet these needs.
Key features of TC9562 series:
- Supply Voltage: 1.8V/2.5V/3.3V
- CPU: Arm Cortex M3
- HOST Interface: PCIe, Endpoint, Single lane
- Ethernet AVD integrated with SGMII/RGMII/MII Interface
- Audio Interface: I2S or TDM
- Peripheral Interface: I2C or SPI/ Quad-SPI/ UART/ Interrupt/ GPIO
- Package: P-LFBGA
More information about the IC can be found in their official website. Samples of the IC will begin shipment from this February and volume production will start by October. Samples are currently available from Toshiba authorized distributors.
