PI3DPX1225Q: A 10Gbps Automotive-Grade Active Crossbar Multiplexer with Linear ReDriver

Diodes Incorporated has introduced the PI3DPX1225Q, a 10Gbps 6:4 active crossbar multiplexer (mux) with a linear ReDriver™, designed to meet automotive compliance standards. This device is engineered to switch USB 3.2 and DisplayPort 2.1 signals through a USB Type-C connector, ensuring low-latency and high signal integrity, making it suitable for applications like smart cockpits and rear-seat entertainment systems. The PI3DPX1225Q operates in three modes: it can connect one lane of USB 3.2 Gen 2 to the USB Type-C connector or connect one lane of USB 3.2 Gen 2 along with two channels of DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR10, or alternatively connect four channels of DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR10. The device also features an AUX listener and, in accordance with the USB Type-C standard, automatically swaps AUX channels when a cable is flipped.

In its USB 3.2 Gen 2 and DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR10 modes, the differential signals can be adjusted using continuous time linear equalization (CTLE). Output settings such as compression swing and flat-gain values are controlled via I2C. The device enhances 10Gbps signal performance by reducing intersymbol interference (ISI) jitter, and its linear equalization supports DisplayPort 2.1 transparent link training without depending on the DP-AUX channels listener.
