RECOM's New 15W AC/DC Converters: Versatile Solutions for Industry and Healthcare
RECOM introduces 15W AC/DC converters in open frame and enclosed versions for chassis and DIN-rail mounting. The open frame version, RACM15E-K/OF, measures 3.1 x 0.9 x 0.8 inches (80 x 23.8 x 22mm) with Molex™ connectors. The enclosed version, RACM15E-K/PMAD, comes in IP20-rated enclosures with push-in terminals, sized at 3.2 x 1.1 x 1.1 inches (83 x 26.4 x 29.5mm). Both fit within a standard 1.5 module width for DIN rail applications. The RACM15E-K series is well-suited for industrial automation, industrial measurement equipment, medical homecare devices, building automation, and household monitoring equipment. Output options include 3.3V (12W), 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, and 30VDC, all protected against over-voltage, overload, and short circuits. They feature a constant current limit for overload protection and a self-resetting ‘hiccup’ mode for short circuits. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, with derating from 50°C in still air.
These converters are certified under IEC/EN62368-1, IEC/EN60335-1, IEC 61558, and IEC 60601-1/ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1. In medical settings, they are rated 2MOPP in OVCII environments up to 5000m altitude and meet the 100µA 'BF' touch current specifications. They are also suitable for OVCIII environments up to 3000m according to IEC61558-2-16 and IEC60335-1. With a no-load current typically less than 100mW, the converters comply with EN55032 Class B conducted EMI standards. They operate at up to 86% efficiency and have an MTBF of over 1 million hours according to MIL-HDBK-217 in a ground benign environment.
