KYOCERA AVX Launches Safety-Certified MLCCs KGK and KGH Series for Robust Surge Protection and EMI Filtering in Consumer and Industrial Electronics
Kyocera AVX has launched the KGK Series Class X1/Y2 and KGH Series Class X2 safety-certified MLCCs, expanding its surface-mount MLCC portfolio. These capacitors offer high reliability, stability, and capacitance in small case sizes, catering to consumer and industrial devices. They adhere to Class-X and Class-Y safety certifications for surge protection, transient protection, and EMI filtering in AC line applications. The KGK Series, in NP0/C0G and X7R dielectrics, serves as an X1/Y2 capacitor. These capacitors are rated for a voltage of 250VAC, with impulse voltages of 5kV (NP0/C0G) and 6kV (X7R). They come in compact case sizes including 1808, 1812, 2211, and 2220, with a capacitance range of 3pF to 680pF (NP0/C0G) and 100pF to 4,700pF (X7R). while the KGH Series, in NP0/C0G and X7R, acts as a Class X2 safety capacitor rated at 250VAC and impulse voltages of 2.5kV (both NP0/C0G and X7R). Similar to the KGK Series, it features case sizes 1808, 1812, 2211, and 2220, with capacitance ranging from 3pF to 1,000pF (NP0/C0G) and 150pF to 56nF (X7R). Both series are TUV, UL, IEC 60384-14:2013, and EN 60384-14:2013 certified, operating within a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. The features include compact sizes, copper or silver/nickel/tin terminations, and adherence to halogen-free and RoHS-compliant standards, making them suitable for applications like modems, fax machines, telephones, and more.
