PT8211 Digital to Analog Converter IC Overview
PT8211 is an Audio grade, dual-channel (stereo) based Digital to Analog Converter with a 16-Bit resolution. It is suitable for use in various audio-related products where the Digital to analog converter is required for audio reproduction or conversion-related work.
As it has two channels in a single chip, it effectively reduces additional component counts in stereo applications.
PT8211 also offers low total harmonic distortion, thus audio noise-related issues are minimized as well as it consumes low power making it suitable for use in mobile or battery-powered applications.
How to Use the PT8211
The below image is showing the standard interfacing of the Digital to Analog converter. It requires basic components, only two op-amps and few low pass filter related RC circuits across the output.
Follow the below guidelines for Circuit and board design-related purposes-
- Make ground plane for this circuit
- Use a regulated power supply
- Keep the connections short in distance
- Use audio grade capacitors
- Add additional low pass filters after the analog output.
Applications of PT8211
- CD/DVD/MP3 player
- Wide range of audio-related consumer products
- Sound card
- Digital audio equipment
- Recorders
- MPEG Decoders
