Toshiba Expands Quad-Channel Digital Isolator Lineup for Lower-Power

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has expanded its DCL34xx0B series of quad-channel standard digital isolators for industrial equipment with four new devices: DCL340L0B, DCL340H0B, DCL342L0B, and DCL342H0B. Designed for applications that require reliable electrical isolation between circuits operating at different voltage potentials, the new devices combine low power consumption, compact packaging, mid-speed communication, and a wide operating temperature range.

The expansion addresses the growing need for isolation components in industrial systems where higher operating speeds can increase electrical noise and the risk of signal errors, malfunctions, or equipment failures. At the same time, industrial equipment manufacturers are seeking smaller components and lower system power consumption to support compact designs, longer service life, and energy-efficiency goals.

The new DCL34xx0B devices use Toshiba’s proprietary magnetic coupling isolation transmission technology and a new circuit technology in the signal-transmission section. This enables typical operating current consumption of just 0.2 mA per channel while supporting data transmission speeds of up to 25 Mbps.

Availability

Toshiba announced the four new DCL34xx0B products with availability through online distributors. The company provides separate online purchasing links for DCL340L0B, DCL340H0B, DCL342L0B, and DCL342H0B. The new devices complement Toshiba’s existing DCL341L0B and DCL341H0B, which provide a three-forward/one-reverse channel configuration, as well as Toshiba’s other digital-isolator families aimed at higher-speed industrial communications and automotive applications.
