Small 36V, 1A DC/DC step-down power module

Texas Instruments introduced two new 4V to 36V buck power modules - 0.5A LMZM23600 and 1A LMZM23601, that measure just 3.0 mm by 3.8 mm and require only two external components for operation. These DC/DC step-down converters achieve up to 92 percent efficiency minimizing energy loss, and feature tiny MicroSiP™ packaging that shrinks board space by up to 58 percent.

These modules are offered with either fixed 5V or 3.3V output voltages, or with external synchronization and adjustable 2.5V to 15V output voltages. The LMZM23601 module features a mode pin that allows flexibility to operate at a fixed frequency for low EMI or an automatic pulse frequency modulation control mode for high efficiency at light loads.

 

LMZM23600

LMZM23600 is specifically designed for space-constrained industrial applications and is available in fixed output voltage options of 5V and 3.3V and an adjustable (ADJ) output voltage option with 2.5V to 15V range. It supports 4V to 36V input voltage range and is able to deliver up to 500mA output current. This power module is extremely easy to use, requiring only 2 external components for a 5V or 3.3V output design. All aspects of the LMZM23600 are optimized for performance driven and low EMI industrial applications with space-constrained needs. An open-drain, Power-Good output provides a true indication of the system status and negates the requirement for an additional supervisory component, saving cost and board space. Seamless transition between PWM and PFM modes along with a no-load supply current of only 30 µA ensures high efficiency and superior transient response for the entire load-current range.

LMZM23601

The LMZM23601 nano module is specifically designed for space-constrained industrial applications and is available in fixed output voltage options of 5V and 3.3V and an adjustable (ADJ) output voltage option with 2.5V to 15V range. It supports 4V to 36V input voltage range is able to deliver up to 1000mA output current. LMZM23601 requires only 2 external components for a 5V or 3.3V output design. All aspects of the LMZM23601 are optimized for performance driven industrial applications with space-constrained needs. An open-drain, Power-Good output provides a true indication of the system status. This feature negates the requirement for an additional supervisory component, saving cost and board space.
