ROHM has introduced the TLR377GYZ, an ultra-compact rail-to-rail CMOS operational amplifier (op amp) that operates between 1.8V and 5V. This component is designed to amplify signals from sensors used in devices like smartphones and small IoT applications, where space is limited. As smartphones and IoT devices become smaller, there is a need for equally miniaturized components that can still provide accurate signal amplification. Traditional op amps often struggle to maintain low input offset voltage and noise performance when miniaturized. The TLR377GYZ addresses this challenge by leveraging advanced circuit design, process, and packaging technologies developed by ROHM.

ROHM's TLR377GYZ addresses this by using proprietary circuits that achieve a maximum offset voltage of 1mV without increasing transistor size. Advanced process technology reduces flicker noise, and optimized resistive components enable an input equivalent noise voltage density of 12nV/√Hz. The TLR377GYZ uses Wafer Level Chip Scale Package (WLCSP) technology with a ball pitch of 0.3mm, resulting in a size reduction of about 69% compared to traditional products and 46% compared to existing compact products.

To support transition and initial evaluation, ROHM provides an IC-mounted conversion board that is compatible with SSOP6 packages. Both the TLR377GYZ and the conversion board are available from online distributors.
