Posifa Technologies has released its new PLF2000 series of liquid flow sensors that ensure to deliver increased accuracy and reliability even in unstable pulsatile flow and low-flow conditions. These sensors are designed to replace mechanical turbine flow sensors and are cost-effective devices that deliver increased accuracy and reliability, even in unstable pulsatile flow and low-flow conditions. These cost-effective MEMS sensors deliver increased performance and reliability, even in unstable pulsatile flow and low-flow conditions.

The dual digital I2C and voltage output of the PLF2000 series provides high performance, flexibility, and scalability in a compact package. These are factory calibrated for water to a minimum of 5 % and a typical 3 % accuracy for volume calculation.

The PLF2000 series features third-generation thermal flow die from Posifa, which uses a pair of thermopiles to detect changes in temperature gradient caused by mass flow. As a result, an excellent signal-to-noise ratio and repeatability of 0.5 % F.S is produced. The surface cavity or fragile membrane used in competing technologies is not needed as there is a solid-state thermal isolation structure on the sensor die. This enables it to be placed directly in the liquid flow path with minimal packaging for higher sensitivity.

Besides, the sensor die does not block the flow path and allows minimal flow resistance allowing it to circulate liquid via gravity, a boiler, or a low-power pump. The sensor has no moving parts and it does not get stuck, suffer mechanical breakdowns, or require disassembly for cleaning and maintenance.

The flow rates measure up to 700 ml/min (PLF2105) and 10 l/min (PLF2135) and the devices offer extremely 5 ms faster response than the typical sensors. Besides, these operate over a +5 °C to +75 °C temperature range. The sensors comply with NSF/ANSI 61: Drinking Water System Components-Health Effects and can be used safely in water and beverage appliances.

With Posifa’s high scalability and production capacity to meet any volume application, the PLF2000 series has become one of the most cost-effective solutions available in the market. Customers interested in buying these sensors can contact the company and get the specifications easily customized as per their requirements. Samples and production quantities of the PLF2000 liquid flow sensors are available now. The PLF2000 Liquid Flow Sensor Datasheet is attached below.
