New RL78/G24 Microcontroller Incorporates Application-Specific FAA and High-Speed CPU for Power-Sensitive Applications
Renesas Electronics Corporation has introduced the RL78/G24 microcontroller (MCU), the latest addition to its RL78 MCU Family for power-sensitive applications. The RL78/G24 incorporates an Application-Specific Flexible Application Accelerator (FAA) and a CPU capable of achieving an operating frequency of 48MHz. The FAA empowers the efficient distribution of tasks, significantly boosting processing speed independently of the CPU.
The RL78/G24 microcontroller enhances peripheral functionalities, making it suitable for applications such as motor control, power supply control, and lighting control. The RL78/G24 comes with a variety of development tools, including the Smart Configurator for generating driver code via a graphical user interface and it also offers Model-Based Design using MATLAB and Simulink, enhancing the development process.
In addition to the RL78/G24, the RL78 Family offers a range of devices, including RL78/G23, RL78/G22, RL78/G15, and RL78/G16, catering to diverse market needs. The RL78/G24 is combined with other analog and power products to create the Portable Power Tools Solution, integrating a motor driver, battery pack, and battery charger for efficient motor drive operation with accurate battery management.
