TDK Corporation has introduced the 400 to 750W rated RGB series of ruggedized non-isolated DC-DC converters from TDK-Lambda. These buck step-down converters operate from input voltages of 9 to 18V, 18 to 32V, or 18 to 60V, and can deliver output voltages adjustable from 0.8 to 8V or 3.3 to 24V, with output currents up to 60A, depending on the power level. The series is designed for harsh environment applications, including medical devices, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), industrial mobile robots (IMRs), drones, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment, industrial applications, test and measurement equipment, and battery-powered devices.

The converters achieve efficiencies of up to 98.5%, enabling them to deliver high usable power in demanding thermal environments with case temperatures ranging from -40°C to +115°C, thus extending battery life. Featuring a 1/16th brick pinout, the converters measure 38.1 x 49.5 x 13.0mm (WxLxH) and are encapsulated for shock and vibration performance according to MIL-STD-810G standards. The five-sided aluminum case reduces radiated EMI and allows for conduction cooling to a cold plate, enabling fanless operation.
