New Four-Channel Master IC and Sensor Signal Conditioner for IO-Link and Industrial Automation Applications

CCE4511 Four Channel Master IC and ZSS3286 Sensor Signal Conditioner
Renesas' CCE4511 Four Channel Master IC and ZSS3286 Sensor Signal Conditioner

Renesas Electronics has introduced two new semiconductor solutions designed for the expanding IO-Link market: the CCE4511 four-channel IO-Link master IC, and the ZSSC3286 dual-channel resistive sensor signal conditioner IC. The CCE4511 Four-Channel Master IC and ZSSC3286 Signal Conditioner are industrial sensors with an IO-Link interface, enabling smart, digital sensors for energy-efficient solutions. These ICs are designed to enhance the functionality and efficiency of IO link sensors, providing smart, digital, and energy-efficient solutions for industrial and factory automation applications.

The CCE4511 IC saves energy, reduces PCB size, and requires fewer external components, significantly reducing the load on microcontrollers (MCU). It offers a high-voltage interface with overvoltage detection and over-current protection. Also, have an integrated IO-Link Frame Handler to automate the lower-layer communication. The CCE4511 IC has an ambient operating temperature of up to 125º C for harsh industrial environments. It also supports the detection of ready pulses from IO-Link devices, which is required to fulfil the newly defined IO-Link Safety System Extension.

The ZSSC3286 is a dual path sensor signal conditioning IC (SSC) designed for highly accurate amplification, digitization, and sensor-specific correction of sensor signals, with support for IO-Link connectivity. Featuring an integrated IO-Link stack that operates the IO-Link Smart Sensor Profile, this IC enables digital measuring and switching for sensors. This device is compatible with bridge and half-bridge sensors, as well as external voltage-source elements. The ZSSC3286 uses a 32-bit Arm-based math core to deliver digital compensation for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature drift, and non-linearity, utilizing a correction algorithm with calibration coefficients stored in a non-volatile, reprogrammable memory.
