New Electrical Height Enhancement for C&K KSC2 Series Tactile Switches
Littelfuse has updated the C&K Switches KSC2 Sealed Tactile Switch product line with an Electrical Height enhancement. The KSC2 series, featuring a 3.5 mm high soft actuator, is an IP67-rated momentary-action tactile switch designed for surface-mount technology (SMT). These switches are available in multiple models with varying electrical lifespans to endure different operating forces. The Electrical Height feature ensures precise electrical connections by defining the distance between the actuation point and bottom contact. The IP67 rating offers dust and water resistance up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, enhancing durability in harsh environments. The 3.5 mm soft actuator improves user experience with a gentle touch and consistent activation.
The Electrical Height enhancement improves the precision of the electrical switching position compared to the PCB reference, making integration easier than with products using Electrical Travel. This enhancement reduces cumulative tolerances, providing a tighter tolerance of ±0.15 mm or ±0.2 mm. The KSC2 tactile switch is suitable for various applications, including medical devices (surgical tools, healthcare wearables), transportation (door handles, window lifters, steering wheel columns), high-end consumer products (power tools, lawnmowers, snow blowers), and industrial equipment (elevators, automation, machinery).
