New Compact DC/DC Converters with Ultra-wide Input and Advanced Features
The RMOD range now includes two new compact DC/DC converters: the RMOD300-UW (300W) and RMOD360-UW (360W). They come with MOLEX(TM) connectors and can handle an input voltage range of 18 to 106VDC (with a peak of 126VDC for 10 minutes), suitable for batteries ranging from 24V to 90V nominal. The RMOD300-UW offers regulated output options of 12.2V, 13.7V, or 24.5VDC, while the RMOD360-UW provides a single 24.5VDC output. These converters are housed in polycarbonate and aluminum casings with IP67 sealing for electronic components, making them suitable for use in Pollution Degree 2 (PD2) environments up to 5000m altitude, ideal for mounting on vehicle chassis. Key specifications include 2250VDC isolation input to output, meeting IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 standards, and 550VDC output to the baseplate. They comply with EMC standards (IEC 61000 series and EN 12895) for industrial trucks and are qualified for shock and vibration resistance as per IEC 60068-2.
These converters have a high MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) rating of up to 740,000 hours and include comprehensive protection features such as input reverse polarity protection, under-voltage lockout, and safeguards against over-temperature, over-voltage, over-current, and short-circuit. They also feature an ON/OFF control and support paralleling for increased power output. With an efficiency rating of around 90%, they can operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to +75°C with specified derating. Common applications for these converters include providing stable 12V or 24V network voltages in transport, E-mobility vehicles, forklift trucks, AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), and construction vehicles, especially in environments with fluctuating or higher-than-normal battery voltages.
