MCP47FEB28 – Low Power 12-bit DACs with Non-Volatile Memory and Integrated Reference Voltage for Space Constrained Applications
Microchip Technology has come up with MCP47/48FxBx8 family of the octal channel, 12-bit, voltage output Digital-to-Analog Converter with EEPROM, and an I2C Compatible Serial Interface for industrial and automotive applications. The DAC family includes 8-, 10-, and 12-bit resolution devices in a 20-lead VQFN 5 x 5 mm package and a 20-lead TSSOP package. The DACs can easily be pre-configured for safe and efficient power-up and eliminate the need of relying on the system processor.
With a low minimum operating voltage of 1.8V to 5.5V and a high level of power efficiency, the device ensures to enhance better thermal performance and reliability. The DACs come with power-on/brown-out reset protection and operates at an extended temperature range (-40 °C to +125°C).
Endowed with nonvolatile memory and an integrated Voltage Reference (Vref) source, the MCP47/48FxBx8 DACs reduce overall system size and complexity while providing the necessary control to meet critical timing needs for safely driving all power outputs. Additionally, it offers SPI and I2C serial interfaces to provide the designer with the most flexibility for device communications.
The device is capable of storing user-customized configuration data even when powered down. When powered-up, all the channels are configured to the pre-defined state without burdening the system processor with this overhead.
The price of the MCP47/48FxBx8 DACs starts from $2.47 each, in 5,000-unit volumes and is currently available for volume orders.
