KYOCERA AVX Expands VCAS Series with VW80808-Qualified MLVs for Enhanced Automotive Reliability
KYOCERA AVX announces that several VCAS Series Multilayer Varistors (MLVs) are now qualified to both AEC-Q200 and VW80808 standards. These MLVs, featuring automotive-grade flexible terminations, are the first to meet the VW80808 standard, ensuring optimal performance in demanding, high-reliability applications in the automotive industry. The VW80808 qualification involves extensive testing, including board bend testing, power line testing, and temperature cycling testing, to guarantee reliability in automotive electrical systems. The VCAS Series MLVs with FLEXITERM terminations are designed to withstand severe flexion, vibration, and temperature cycling. These MLVs find applications in automotive under hood and battery line, industrial, aerospace, IoT, and consumer electronics, offering bidirectional overvoltage protection and EMI/RFI attenuation. Available in various sizes, the series meets the RoHS compliance standards.
