KYOCERA AVX has expanded its KAM Series automotive MLCCs with 20 new capacitors. These components are designed for use in electric vehicles (EVs), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and automated driving systems (ADS). They are available in four case sizes (0201, 0402, 0603, 0805), with thicknesses ranging from 0.33mm to 1.45mm, nickel/tin terminations, two dielectrics (X7R and X7T), four voltage ratings (4, 6.3, 10, and 16V), and capacitance values from 0.1µF to 22µF. These capacitors are manufactured to meet AEC-Q200 standards and are tested for high quality and reliability. They are also RoHS compliant and designed to operate below their rated voltage. The KAM Series is suitable for applications in EVs, ADAS, and ADS, including engine control units (ECUs), powertrains, central gateway communication nodes, heads-up displays (HUDs), door control units (DCUs), cameras, radar, LiDAR, memory, and CPU/MPU decoupling.

They are also applicable in hybrid automotive battery control, inverters, converters, motor control, water pumps, and other high-reliability applications. With this addition, the KAM Series now includes nine case sizes, two termination styles, six dielectrics, 16 voltage ratings from 4V to 3,000V, capacitance values from 0.5pF to 22µF, and eight capacitance tolerances. This range supports various demanding automotive and industrial applications.
